We Three

I have still been playing with my Bella Blvd papers because as I said before I just love the bold mix of colors in the paper lines. When I came across this picture of my sister, brother-in-law, and niece, an idea began to form as to how I wanted to design this layout. I knew I wanted it to be about family, and the "Honey, I'm Home" collection was just the ticket!!! Next I pulled out my Quickutz Revolution and made the sweetest little tree for an embellishment and then hand cut the little birdies from the paper to place in the tree.....toooo cute!!!!! I free handed my clouds on the blue patterned paper and viola.....a sweet homey picturesque scene that works perfectly for a sweet new family. Happy Scrappin!!!!!!

Too Cute

Today it is all about Caleb. Caleb is my middle child and as per normal, he has the classic middle child syndrome. He is such an amazing kid and so extremely wise beyond his years. When he was born I always called him my "lil man" and to this day his nickname is just so fitting to his personality and our relationship. I could go on and on about Caleb but I am sure you don't want to hear me continuously bragging about my child so I am going to leave you with my recent layout of ..........guess who..........Caleb!!!!!!!!

About the layout.....I used a lot of pop dots to add dimension. I mixed 2 Bella Blvd. lines just a little to get the color scheme I wanted. I just love Stephanie's bold color palettes she uses in her papers. This was such a fun layout to make and very easy. I hope you enjoy and have an awesome day!!!!!!!

Under a Rock?

Where have I been you ask???? Under a rock!!!!! Seriously, I have had my second chest cold of the year....dang allergy season. Don't you just hate that feeling where you head feels like a balloon? Yep, that's what I feel like....a balloon head or maybe a human bobble head. Ok, enough about me. This weekend I had the awesome privilege to travel and spend the weekend with some amazing scrappy women....Susan Dupre and Robbie Herring. Robbie was completely gracious by letting us stay in her home while she was in the midst of house training her newest family member, Daisie. We had such a wonderful time and I am truly grateful for the opportunity to break away from the homestead and have some crazy fun GIRL time!!!!! I got to tour parts of Texas I have yet to see and get my hands on some yummy new finds  that I have had my eye on since CHA. Sorry, no pics this time but listen up girls....the camera is breaking out on the next trip!!!!!! LOL!

Here is my latest...."Girly Girl"
I got to sit and play with the main kit from MY CREATIVE SCRAPBOOK and it is just to die for!

Wishing all of you a Happy Scrappy Day!!!!!

Wow...Thank You!!!!

Today has been kind of rough...had to have another injection in my spine. Believe me when I say it is really not that bad and I am quite used to the procedure but it still leaves some discomfort afterwards. It is something I have accepted as part of my life and as they say...life goes on.

I have really been having "Fall Fever". I am so ready for cooler weather. Now when I say cooler weather, it means something very different in the south. Growing up in Louisiana, I know to expect a mild winter and hot hot summers but since moving to Texas, "Hot" took on a whole new meaning....like hotter than hades or so hot that a chicken laid a fried egg!!!!! Oh well, my point is I am anxious for jacket weather and sweaters. I love homemade stew on a cold day watching football. With all that said, I tend to scrap what is on my mind at the time. Here is a layout for Halloween. Basic Grey had an awesome line last year that I was still itching to use. The design comes from a sketch I found on Creative Scrappers sketch site.

Look at this...I was completely humbled by this very sweet award from a fellow blogger. I was told I had to answer 2 questions after receiving it so here goes...

What was my favorite project to work on?

I would say a mini purse album by BoBunny for my local scrap store. I was working there at the time and was asked to create something for a future class. Altered projects are not usually my niche but when I saw the finished product I have to say I was really pleased. Now every time I walk in the store and see that mini album on display I am so proud that I attempted and conquered something out of my comfort zone.
Why do I enjoy crafting?
I enjoy crafting/scrapbooking because it relaxes me. It is the most therapeutic hobby I have ever had. It never occurred to me that I had a "crafty" artistic side to me....I was completely focused on acquiring a medical career. But when things happened with my back, scrapbooking became such an outlet for all my emotions and love for my family and friends. Now I can't imagine life without paper and glue!!!
I am supposed to pass this on to 3 people who inspire me....
Can't wait to spread the love!!!!

Always

Hey there!!!! I just wanted to pop in real quick to tell you about the sketch challenge over at Paper Poppy. I wish I knew how to link it up with the name but I am a little bit computer challenged so I'll just paste and copy....

Ok...there ya go!!!! I always love a good sketch and I thought this one by Aphra was just too cute!!!!! The twist is to use different edges....like scallops, flags, or whatever your little heart desires. I used the fab new edges provided by Sassafras Lass in their Indie collection. So hop on over there and take part in the challenge. Aphra has a $10.00 Gift certificate up for grabs at her kit club....and I don't know about you but I love free stuff!!!!!!!

Sharks...OH MY!!!!

Look at my silly kids!!!!! They just consistently crack me up! This is the stuff I want them to always remember. I used my kits from My Creative Scrapbook to create this page with a few odds and ends that I already had. I also used a technique that my fellow DT gal pal, Mirelle, uses quite often which is feaux stitching. If you notice the circle you will see what appears to be white stitching. Mirelle uses a black marker first to draw the stitches then goes back over the black with a white pen....I prefer the white signo pen. In between each stitch I used a paper piercer to make the little holes to complete the effect. When I see Mirelle's pages, I am always wowed by this easy technique and how striking her pages look. If you have not seen her work, you really should run over to My Creative Scrapbook and check her out.

Don't you just love looooooong car rides???? Well Little Miss Madisyn sure did NOT!!!!!! My little niece is not unlike many other children when it comes to the strong dislike of her car seat. Being the awesome Aunt that I am, I just had to take a picture of her so I could scrap it. You think she will be mad at me for it one day?

Gasp........Sigh........be still my heart!!!!!! Yes, these are my babies!!!!!! I got my Noel Mignon Sweet Sue kit and could not wait to play! This is not my normal style of layout, but I am super pleased with how it turned out.

Hope all of you are having a super scrappy day!!!!! Until next time......Hugs from me to you!

PageMaps

Hello!!!! I just wanted to drop off my latest project. Becky Fleck of PageMaps allowed me to work on one of her sketches!!!! I was beyond excited since I consider Becky to be one of the "Super Stars" of the scrapbooking industry. I have been a fan of PageMaps for several years now and it has pulled me out of many scrappy ruts when the mojo was just not flowing. So if ever you need some inspiration or a blueprint for a starting point, head on over to PageMaps for a wealth of direction.
