MLS Sketch Challenge

I love a challenge...especially when it is a sketch challenge. I love My Little Shoebox and I knew I had the perfect papers and pictures for this particular challenge.

Look at my crazy kiddos. We were on vacation having our yearly family photo shoot and they were more than willing to supply me with some crazy fun photos.

This was such a fun layout to create. The Pink Paislee "Old School" line was perfect for my son and his friends. They were getting ready for Homecoming Day at their school. I just love that all the guys feel comfortable enough to come over and pose for me. The never fail to entertain!!!

Tonsils and Scrappy Stuff

My poor Landon, who is 18, had to have his tonsils taken out this past Thursday. Needless to say the past few days have been filled with a lot of ice cream, pain meds, and sleep. While he slept I was able to play with my kit from Paper Poppy some more. I am so in love with the beautiful fall colors from Lily Bee and Pink Paislee. So, in between nursing my poor poor boy, I was able to make this layout and a card. Uh Oh, I here my name being called....back to my mommy job. Enjoy your wonderful Sunday!

Exciting News!!!!

As many of you know I suffer from numerous spinal problems that prevent me from working outside of the home. With that said, I have been racking my brain with ways that I could contribute towards the family income. Well after much thought and consideration I have come up with a solution that I think will be a good fit for me and my family. Recently I have taken a huge interest in stamping. You would think as much as I love paper crafting I would have already ventured into that particular side of crafting but you would be wrong. I have a tendency to shy away from things that are not within my comfort zone. No More!!!!!! I have investigated and studied and decided that I am diving in head first.....I have become a Stampin' Up Demonstrator. I figure, why not perfect my craft and make money at the same time? This is where you come in. I need a customer base and since I consider all of you my crafty friends I thought I would share with you this exciting news! I have my own website and would greatly appreciate if you would consider me when getting ready to make your next card or scrapbook purchase. Stampin' Up has a plethera of products to choose from and I believe it to be of fabulous quality. So please come by and check out my website. I would love to be of service to all your scrappy needs. You can find me here...here

Thank you so very much,

Football and Scrapping

First I want to say........GEAUX LSU TIGERS!!!!!! Yes, it is college football Saturday and I am representing the best known team in the nation!!!!! Whoop, whoop!!!!!!

Ok, so as I have said before, I loooooove Aphra Boyler's sketches. She also has a kit company called Paper Poppy. When I saw this kit, I knew I had to have it!!!!! It is packed full of fall colors and such yummy embellies!!!!!! As for the sketches, she has a sketch challenge monthly so I decided to once again take a wack at it.

So, what do ya think?????? I pulled out my Quickutz Revolution and went to town on this layout. I love the owl, tree, and leaves....all quickutz dies. As for the title...being from Louisiana, I knew immediately what I would title this layout as soon as I decided to use the owl in the tree. As for my sub-title, Aphra challenged us to use a number in part of our title. I am super excited with the way it turned out!!!!! This is two of my favorite pictures taken of my kids and friends on one of our Thanksgiving trips back home.
Well that's all for today, The family and I are about to curl up on the couch and cheer on our Tigers!!!!! Hope you have a safe and happy weekend!!!!!!!!

Blahhhhh...It's Monday

Monday's do not like me....it is definitely a mutual feeling. I always have the hardest time transitioning from the weekend back to a week day. I think I liked Monday's better when it was summertime. They didn't affect me so much then. Either way, I am slowly making my way over here to drop off two layouts wishing that it were Saturday all over again. (Sigh)

Ok, this first layout I am competely smitten with because of all the fun colors. I don't know about you but I love October Afternoon papers. They just make me smile. I think what added the most interest to this layout was the embellishments...I backed them with black cardstock to really make them pop.

Next is a layout I did of my baby girl, Abigail. I worked with the main kit from My Creative Scrapbook. I tend to shy away from pastels but I worked real hard to bring out the browns and blues in the papers. The doily I misted with "coffee shop" by Glimmer Mist then I added the sweet banner with the butterflies on the ends to give a whimsical feel to the page. I am really pleased with the end result.

Well, that's enough out of me! Hope you are having a more productive Monday than myself. Happy Scrappin!!!!!!!!

Celebrate Card Making

Hope all of you are taking part in celebrating "Card Making" Day. I made this little card with one of the Basic Grey lines. It seemed appropriate since I wanted to send my condolences to one of my neighbors on the loss of his dog. Jackson was a huge Great Dane but a very gentle giant. All the kids of the neighborhood loved Jackson. I was so saddened to hear that he had became very ill and needed to be put to sleep. I just know his owner is grieving the loss of his dear friend. Ok, enough of the sad news.....my point in all of this is how special it is to send a little bit of sunshine into someone's life by sending them a homemade card. I think it just gives that extra special sentiment to have something made with extra special care. So, dig out all of your stash and make someone a card today and celebrate World Card Making Day with all of us crafters.
