Scraps of Darkness Reveal Day

Good Morning Scrappers!!!! I am so excited to bring to you this morning the May Scraps of Darkness kit "Destinations"!!!!!

And with this kit, comes a little inspiration by our one and only Charlotte Jenkins, aka "SuePup".

Now comes the fun part...I get to show you what I did with this sketch...

I have been waiting for the perfect time to scrap this picture and this kit was exactly what I was waiting for. I called this layout "Adventure Seekers" because that describes my kids perfectly!!!! Now, look at that beautiful compass piece, made especially for this kit by Gina's Chipboard....absolutely love it!!!!!
And if you subscribed to the color kit then you get not 1 but 3 fabulous sprays by Lindy's Stamp Gang. I used 2 of those colors on my layout above.

I totally created this layout to show you how versatile this kit can be. I took some of my flowers and sprayed them with my LSG from my personal stash and took them from white to a beautiful cotton candy pink and black orchid. The doilies are from the Scraps of Elegance May kit along with the large white flower. It just goes to show how these two great kit clubs can mix together so perfectly. And now, I have stretched my kit to work for just about any theme I choose.

Well, that is it for today. Stay tuned, because I will be revealing more tomorrow morning. I hope you will come back and see what I have up my sleeve next!!!!! And go grab the "Destinations" kit today!!!!!

An Encore

Hey all my scrapper friends!!!! How has your weekend been? Oh and how did you celebrate National Scrapbooking Day? I spent my day with Prima...they had fab tutorials all day!!!! And I was able to get a page in with my kit from Scraps of Elegance. But I'll save that one for another day. Today is all about Encores!!!! What do I mean, you ask????? I'm talking about the Scraps of Darkness kit "Remember When"!!!!! So, you've seen reveal day, but now it's time for an Encore!!!!! This kit is so full of amazing product, you should be able to stretch it for many layouts, cards, or tags!!!!! Well, enough of my chatter...on to my latest work with "Remember When"!!!!

"This Day"

This layout was super easy to make. I first applied my molding paste with my stencil. Then, I added my sprays. Once that was done, I decided I wanted a little more texture so then I grabbed one of my stamps. Then I was completely satisfied!!!! All that was left was a few layers and my flowers. Viola!!!!

Here are a few close-ups...

 Next is "Love My Daddy"

This next layout I used the brand new Texturz paste by Shimmerz ...love that stuff. So this layout is full of texture. I built up my picture on top of some corrugated card board offered in the kit. I wanted to give it some lift. I took an extra tag that I had made with the distress paints and glimmer mist and incorporated it into my page. I just love all the dimension and texture offered on this page!!!!!

Here are some close-ups...

I hope you have enjoyed and been inspired by all that you have seen. Now, be sure to not miss out on the next kit and get your subscription today with Scraps of Darkness

Scraps of Darkness Reveal

It is that time...today is the day. Reveal day for Scraps of Darkness!!!! Are you Ready???? Let's begin shall we??!!

First, as you know we have the Spectacular kit....Remember When

Next, we have a fabulous new sketch to go with this amazing kit. It is designed by the fabulous Charlotte Jenkins otherwise known as "Suepup" in the scrappy world. Now, be sure to join in this month and load your layout in our gallery for the monthly sketch challenge.

Here is my first design based on the sketch....

"Love This Shot"

This layout is full of sprays, stamps, and texture. Plus, I used some of the distress paint that was offered in the "Color" add on of the kit. I just love all the orange, browns, and turquoise colors in these Bo Bunny papers.

This first close-up shows the yummy flowers offered in the "Flora and Fauna" add on. Also, you can see the awesome texture and dimension with all the layers of media.

Look at those cute stickers and buttons offered in the main kit...soooo sweet!!!!!

Now on to my next layout....

"Snap Shots"

This layout, I added a little bit of modeling paste, along with some stamps, mist, and again I used some of the distress paint. FYI, I used a toilet paper roll, rolled some paint along the edges and voila...instant "cup stain" stamp! I loved how the Kaisercraft polka dot paper completely matched the sweater on Abigail's friend...really made my picture POP!!!! The background of my picture was a huge ad on a wall in between 2 buildings. The girls got a kick out of posing in front of the models.

Ok, my last project.....

There are a couple of techniques that went into making these tags, but I don't want to overload you too much so I will save that for a later post.

I hope you enjoyed my reveal and I hope you will go over to our home page to see what everyone else has done as well. Just follow my link at the top of this post and it will take you right on over there.
There is so much offered in this kit that you could do at least 8-10 pages. I have some more projects brewing so stay tuned!!!!!!

Round Robin Challenge

Have you heard of the Round Robin Challenge? Well, I am participating in this challenge for my first time over at the forum of Scraps of Darkness. Have you joined this kit club yet? I urge you to come over and check us out and we will make you feel right at home!!!!

Here is the layout I made for my team. Now the next person in line has to scraplift my layout. On this page I used lots and lots of Shimmerz, as well as modeling paste and stamping. I wanted lots of layering and lots of texture and dimension. I absolutely love the outcome. The papers I used are from the Divine collection by Prima. They fit perfectly with the beautiful moment I captured of Abigail putting on her tap shoes for her very first class. I'll never forget that day and how far she has come since then. At the bottom I used one of the frames with the word "Goal" centered in it. I wanted Abigail to remember that when she set her goal of learning to dance, and by never giving up, she could achieve it and the skies the limit from that day on.

Here are some close-ups of my layout....I hope you can see bits of all the shimmery goodness as well as the layers I used to build my page.
