I am a computer JUNKIE!!!!!!

Ok, so much to tell and not a whole lot of time to do it! Really, my stomach is grumbling telling me that it is time for food...not that I need too much food but that is a whole other story! Anyway...I will admit it, I am a computer JUNKIE! There, I said it. I have lived and barely survived 8 days 8 hours and 21 minutes of no computer but hey, who's counting! I am now up and running that is, the internet is up and running and I am going crazy trying to catch up on all the stuff I have missed. Crazy, huh?????

This is what is going on in my life as of now...Caleb, my younger son has signed up to play baseball this spring. So all those beautiful curls he is sporting in the picture below has now been removed. He decided he would go for a much cleaner "jock" look while playing ball. My baby girl, Abigail has a birthday coming up...NINE years old. OH MY GOSH, time sure does fly by. I wish they didn't have to grow up so fast!
More news, Landon, my oldest son got his letterman jacket. Forgive me while I brag a little (you know that is what us moms are good for). Landon was 1 out of 3 freshman to letter in track his freshman year!!!!! (he is a sophmore this year) At his banquet last spring, Landon was awarded the student with the most track points earned out of the entire freshman team. He was honored by having his name engraved on a plaque that will remain in the school for years to come!!!!! Yes, my kid did that!!!!!! I am so proud!
While I have been living in the desert of no technology or internet I threw myself into my craft. I will however not show all of the layouts I created here for it would just be more than your eyes could bear. Seriously though, I worked on a few projects and I have some exciting news to share but I don't want to say anything yet. At least it is exciting to me. Ok, have a peek at what I have been doing and I am going to go and feed the beast within......I'm starving!

16 Random Things

I was tagged a while back with this and thought I would post it on my blog as well.
16 Random Things about Me

1. I like to meet people but usually one on one. I don't always do well in groups simply because I don't like "chit chat". When I talk to someone I want it to be more meaningful and personal.
2. I am very laid back (lexapro helps) LOL!!!! I tend to not sweat the small stuff so that I can better handle the bigger problems that come my way.
3. I've been hurt deeply which has made me guarded.
4. I love my family soooo much. I especially have an amazing relationship with my mother which has been a life saver for me in the darkest moments of my life.
5. I choose to be optimistic in life because I choose to find joy for myself...there is enough negativity in the world already.
6. Being a mother has come natural to me, probably because I had a great example to follow in my own mother. I treasure every moment with my kids.
7. I loooooove coffee...I can't function without it. The kids even know to not ask me too many questions until I have had my first cup.
8. I secretly wish I would have finished my nursing degree...I know I would have been really good at it.
9. I have always been a hopeless romantic. I love sappy romantic comedies or novels. Something about curling up on the couch with a good movie or book that gives me lots of pleasure.
10. I hate the phone...I would rather talk in person or on the computer....Ridiculous I know!!!!
11. I could eat Mexican food everyday...good thing I live in Texas!!!! Doesn't help with the girlish figure!!!!
12. I would love to organize an outreach for troubled kids...that is the mother in me that wishes I could save all the kids I see who come from bad homes.
13. I had back surgery 1 year ago and still suffer from chronic pain, but I refuse to quit living my life because of it.
14. I love a glass of wine and good company!!!! I have Friday nights reserved between me and my good friend. We have been having Girls Nite out for 2 years now.

15. I like being at home...I can be somewhat of a homebody.
16. I talk to myself, which doesnt' go over so well if someone is standing near me. LOL!!!

Now as for new layouts...I have one for the Dream Girls blog challenge...

Then I sent this one into a Scenic Route January Challenge...

Wish Me Luck!!!!!

Happy New Year Part II

Yesterday while trying to update my blog, my dear husband kept rushing me off the computer. That will be my next mission in life, to get a new computer for MAH!!!!!! Ok, to continue from yesterday...

We had a really good Christmas. They kids seem to be really happy with what Santa brought them. A couple of days after, my sister had to go to the hospital. She had a c-section incision that got infected. The doctor ended up placing her back into the hospital. That is when I loaded up the kids and left for Ruston, Louisiana to care for my little niece while mommy got better. We spent New Years with my parents and Nat (my sister) got to come home from the hospital.

Next, my wacky teenager begged for a haircut...but not just any haircut...a MOHAWK!!!!!! Oh dear Lord!!!!!!! Supposedly it is for track season. I guess he wants to sike out his opponents. It is taking some getting use to but I think this too shall pass.

While being at home I have been able to do some scrapping. I have sorted through my stash of scrap goodies and have been trying to use what I have. I am itching to buy new stuff but I am holding off for now. With CHA right around the corner, I just know some fab stuff will be coming out SOON!!!!! Here are my latest....

So, do you have any goals for the new year???? I have a few....1.) live healthier 2.) become more financially wiser 3.) and I would love to pursue being published. Well, off to clean house...time to put all the Christmas decorations away. Uhhhhgggg!!!!!!

Can't wait for Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving happens to be one of my most favorite holidays. I always love going home and spending time with my most tresured family and friends. This year will be no different since I will be going home to Louisiana and staying with my parents. My mom and I have even decided to go shopping on "Black Friday" for the first time ever. I have never been one to push and shove in the crowds of mad shoppers but I at least would like to enjoy the experience of one of the craziest shopping days in America.

It has been kind of busy for me here lately with Halloween and then my birthday. The kids were just as cute as always in their costumes. I dread that they are eventually not going to want their Momma walking the neighborhood with them going Trick or Treat. Landon went with his high school friends, Caleb went with his little friends and all I had left was Abigail and one of her little friends.

My Birthday was fantastic this year. I turned 36. Duane took me out to one of my favorite resturants, Carraba's. Then we went to see the movie "Nights of Rodanthe". Fantastic movie and a great book by Nicholas Sparks. Then he surprised me with the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice, the 10th anniversary extended editon and the Twilight hardback series. The kids woke me up to my traditional birthday spanking that I give to them every year and a birthday cookie that said, Happy Birthday Momma. I was truly spoiled!!!!!

I finally have produced a few layouts. I treasure each moment that I have time to sit and enjoy my most theraputic hobby.

Twilight

Ok, I must confess...I am a TWILIGHT fanatic!!!! I read all the books right before school started and I fell in love with a vampire named Edward. See, I told you I was a hopeless romantic.

Isn't he the most gorgeous new hottie to hit the big screen????? This is Robert Pattinson who plays Edward. When I read the books and envisioned what Edward would look like, I must say the director of the movie "nailed" this character. He certainly did not disappoint me and now I have this beautiful face for my beautiful Edward!

This is the first series of books that I could absolutely read over and over again. Then there is the movie....It comes out in November!!!!!!!

My parents came in town this past week. I had such a good time. I always hate to see them go but I am going to see them at Thanksgiving so that is just around the corner.

What else has happened....let's see, Oh how could I forget about Ike!!!!! Friday, Sept. 11th Ike hit us at about 1am. We lost power for 9 days!!!!! So we lived by candlight.

We had no tv, no computer, no air condition, no refridgerator, and no hair products (flat iron) for N I N E L O N G D AYS!!!!!!!!!

Fortunately I had a good friend who took in my groceries since she had a generator. We cooked together on the grill, fed the kids, drank lots of wine, and helped each other keep our sanity!!!! I thankfully had no damage to my home and I walked away from my first hurricane and got the t-shirt to prove it!

Busy, Busy, Busy

I guess I have been a busy girl. I have been on a scrappin frenzy here lately. I wanted to share some of my newest layouts and also to gab a little about other things as well.

Summer is almost over and now it is time to get back into our regular routines. Landon has started up football again for the fall season and Caleb and Abigail are just getting ready for school.

As for scrappy business, my local scrap store is having its quarterly Round Up class where all of us (the instructors) advertise or solicite our business. I have to schedule new classes for the fall season and I may possibly change the name of my class. Right now I call it "Kim's Kreative Korner" and all of my layouts are based on sketches.

Let's see, Ohhhh and this month is my 12 year anniversary...for some reason I thought it was 13 years. Where does the time go?????

This is me at my mom and dad's house...if I haven't mentioned before, I looooooove going to visit their house on the lake.

My gorgeous eldest son....am I really a mother of a 16 year old???????

Ahhhhh Garrison....rotten little stinker. This is my best friend's son. He is a MESS!!!!! But we all love him to pieces!

Dear Abigail....spoiled rotten to the core and yes it is all my fault and her daddy's of course!!!!! She is our baby and knows exactly how to wrap us around her little finger. I never thought I would be one of those parents!

Ok, I threw this in because this is the latest movie I have watched where I just absolutely loved the message behind it. I am all about "Girl Power" and this has all the elements of a great girl movie. It tells us all that we can not love, give love, or be loved until we love ourselves! Sometimes and just sometimes, Hollywood can get it right. Probably because Reese Witherspoon is the producer. She is all about sending the right message to the future young women of the world.
