Wild Child

Teenagers.....WOW, I knew they could go through some wild phases but I never saw this one coming. The first biggie was the tongue ring. No, that is not a misprint....Landon wanted a tongue ring. After much thought and deliberation, I concluded that it was not THAT big of a deal and he is a good kid so what the hay! Well, 3 days later Landon came home with this....

As they say, "a picture is worth a thousand words". Now I am not going to go into the details of how this all took place or how upset I was when he came home and revealed not one but two tattoos. No, what I will say is that reguardless of what my opinion may be, I love him. He is expressing himself in way that I do not necessarily understand but we have a great relationship. I am not one of those parents who duck their heads and hide in the sand. I am actively involved in my children's lives and always asking questions. I am a mother first then their friend. I am just learning as I go and trying my best to get it right.

That's a very good attitude, Kim. It's good you remember he's a good kid with a good heart. It could be worse, right? BTW, I love the ink...heheheh. ;)

Kim, you're a good mom. And for what it's worth - I don't see his tattoo as such a big deal. He put it on an area that's hidden most of the time. I mean, when he gets older and goes in for that big interview - no one is gonna know it's there. But he will... and that's what's important. It makes him feel good. He siezed the day! And that's awesome!

Hey Kim! Your story sounds all to familiar. I have a 16 yr old and we did the belly button thing and now she wants the nose. Yikes...I just cant do that! She is so beautiful I am not going to be involved with anything on the face.
