Thankful

Hello...just dropping in to give an update. Seven days ago, I had a full abdominal hysterectomy or as I like to say...I've been gutted like a deer or a fish. I know that I will be pleased with the end result but as of now, I am just so very thankful for my parents and I am thankful for pain meds. LOL!!!!! Be back soon!!

Checking in...

Wanted to drop off my latest layouts I have been working on. Stephanie over at Bella Blvd. sent me a fab box of goodies to play with. I was immediately inspired to create 3 of these fun layouts.

Beach Bum...Plastino collection

"You"-nique...Super Stud collection

Christmas Joy...December Details collection

This next one is with my fab kit by Studio Calico....very awesome kit club!!!! Love all the yummy papers and embellishments.

Bold & Confident...

In conclusion, I wanted to let you know that I will be gone for a little bit. I will be having a full hysterectomy on Tuesday. My momma and daddy will be coming in tomorrow to help me with my recovery and to take care of the kiddos since dear hubby has to continue working. I am so thankful for a wonderful and loving family who are there for me when I need them.

Also, I know I have said this before, but I am so thankful for all of my beautiful scrappy friends. There are so many of you who are so very dear to my heart...some who I have met, some who I would love to meet. I can not say enough about how awesome this art form has been...how it has given me an outlet for myself but also how it has allowed me to meet so many fabulous women. Big Hugs to all of you!!!!!

Some Bella, Studio Calico, and Moxie?????

Morning!!!! I hope and pray you had a lovely Easter Holiday. I know me and my family really enjoyed our time together.
Boy, I have been taking some much needed time off from everyday life. I think I have read about 4 books so far. Life has thrown me a few curve balls in the last 6 months and scrapping has always been my sanctuary but now the wind in my sails have blown out. It is kind of funny how we make our children take a "time out" when they have done something wrong or have a stinky attitude yet it is so hard for us, as the parent, to realize when it is time to just take a "time out" for ourselves. So that is what I am doing at this present time.
Have you ever watched Night at the Museum 2???? I love the character Amy Adams plays, Amelia Earhart. At one point her character is speaking to Ben Stiller's character and she says, "you've lost your MOXIE". Do you get it???? Sometimes we lose what we are passionate about. It gets lost somewhere in the pressures of life to do and be better. So while I take a rest, I am going to find my MOXIE.

While on assignment for the fabulous Stephanie Hunt who is the creator of the fabulous Bella Blvd., I was challenged to create a layout about friends. This is me and two of my high school friends at our favorite chinease restuarant. When I go home I always love to hook up with some of my girls that I have known now for the last 25 years. Wow time sure flys by so fast!!!!

Here is Bella Blvd., Estate Sale line....

I was also challenged to do an altered project. I honestly am terrified of altered projects just because it is out of my comfort zone but I continue to push beyond my fears. I made a mini tin with my favorite Bella line, All Inclusive. I would like to take this time to thank Stephanie for her belief in me and allowing me to be a part of the Bella Artista team. You rock Stephanie!!!!!

Before I go, here is the last lo I have created in which I used products from my first kit by Studio Calico. I have heard so many fab things about SC so I decided to take the plunge and try them out. (Think about it ladies, if we are not scrapping, we are shopping for scrapy supplies. It is a vicious cycle!!! LOL!!! )Such sweet papers for a sweet picture. This is Abigail and my niece, Madisyn. They truly are some "sweet lil Girls".

About Me...

I am a complex woman...not to be placed into one specific catagory. Here are a few reasons why...

I love Daughtry...or as I like to call him, Chris. We are on a more personal level, at least in my mind. LOL!!! What is funny is I can listen to all types of music. My mood determines the music I want to listen to. I like rock, jazz, country, contemporary christian...and much much more.

mmmmm, yummy!!!! Shhhhhhh, don't tell my husband!!!

Another thing you may not know is that I have a tattoo. What is even more shocking is that I got it just this past year before my 37th birthday. I have always said that IF I ever got one it would be a fleur des leis. My tattoo signifies my heritage and my love for where I come from. I am a Louisiana girl, born and bred. But don't be fooled by my accent, because I am also an intelligent woman. I loved the quote from "Sweet Home Alabama", where jake said, "I may talk slow but I'm not stupid". That is a big pet peeve of mine...I do not believe in making judgements about people based on their race, sex, religion or nationality. As a Christian, I strongly believe in the phrase, "treat others as you want to be treated". I believe you should love one another, keep an open heart and open mind. The minute you judge another, you have closed the door to all sorts of possibilities. Stepping off of my soapbox...

Let's see...I drive a minivan

I live in a suburb or as I call it the burbs

I have a strong dislike for those who think they are better than others

I read all the time...I loooove mystery but my fave is paranormal romance...

I love photography, decorating my house, and of course scrapbooking

I have been diagnosed with degenerative disc disease, nerve scarring, and 2 herniated disc.

I adore my kids, they are the air that I breathe!!!!

I love my husband...We have had some extremely rocky times, but we have
endured and grown stronger because of it. He is my best friend and my biggest
fan.

I have been hurt deeply and I have been loved deeply.

I am strong and stubborn minded...

I am loyal to my friends...there is nothing I won't do for those that I love.

Those are just a few things about me...we are all unique in our own special way.

A layout for the road... Me and my mommy on our summer vacation last year. She is the wind beneath my wings!!!! Have a fabulous weekend!!!! Much love from me to you!

FYI...Sadly, I have resigned from my DT position with Creative Scrappers. I have had some complications from a procedure I had (endometrial ablasion). I am scheduling my hysterectomy next week. I hope this will end a lot of issues I have had for the last 6-8 months. I will keep you posted.

A day late

It's Monday and it is day 1 of spring break!!! I got to stay up late last night, finish my book, and sleep in late. It has been an busy weekend so let me get started...

Sunday...Creative Scrapper's Reval day, Sketch #95. I really enjoyed this sketch and I hope you do too.

Sunday March 14, 2010 my firstborn child turned 18!!!!!! I can't believe that my baby has grown up so fast and has now become a man. He has one more year at home (he will be a senior next year) then he intends to join the Airforce. I am very proud of him but very saddened to know that he will be leaving the nest. How does a mother prepare herself to let one of her children go? Oh well, that is for another day.

Friday Duane completed his classwork training for the Union Pacific Railroad. He has one more month of on-the-job training and he will receive his license as an engineer! I am so very proud of him. We made a huge sacrifice in order for him to do this because UP decreases your salary tremondously until completion of the course. I love you Duane and I thank you for your commitment and determination.

A day in the life of me...

How was your weekend? I had a fabulous day with my daughter, Abigail. I think all moms should have time set aside for a mother/daughter day. Abigail and I went to the movies to see Alice in Wonderland. It was sooooo fantastic and Johnny Depp proved again why he was made for acting...sheer genious!!!!!

Before going to the movie, Abigail and I came across this really pretty walkway area...I think they call it the Waterway Park. The fountain was just beautiful so we parked the car to stop and do a little photo shoot. Here are two of my favorite pictures.

On Sunday I was inspired to pull out some of the new GCD papers and embellies that I had found at Archivers. I was a little intimidated at first because I just hate to cut into such pretty papers. I searched the internet and finally came across a sketch that I liked by Pencil Lines and viola...a pretty page for a pretty girl!

Here is a layout I did of my parents with our newest little addition, Madisyn. I called it "the sweet life" because momma and daddy are both retired and enjoying life. I did some misting and masking at the bottom and really just did a pretty frame with one of the Martha Stewart punches. The tree is a die I have from Quickutz. I really love the way it turned out and had a lot of fun doing it.I am trying to expand myself into other things besides layouts and made this little easter card with some left over papers from Making Memories. Cards and altered items are a little scarey for me but once I plunge in and go for it, I really have a lot of fun with it. So keep those scraps of paper, you never know when they will come in handy.

Now for project 365...
