Ode to the Eighties

If I have not said it once I have said it a thousand times....I loooooooove Eighties music!!!!!! I remember listening every weekend to Rick Dees top 40 countdown with my cassette tapeplayer ready to record all my favorite songs. Or watching MTV every Friday night with my girlfriends until we fell fast asleep on the living room floor. I specifically remember staying up late with my brother for the premier of Thriller.....ooooohhhh I still get goosebumps when I think about the first time I watched Michael Jackson dancing with all the creepy crawly zoombies.....ahhhhhh those were the days. Well I decided to pay tribute to my favorite decade. I put together a playlist of just a few of my faves, so sit back a spell and let your mind take you back to the "Good Ole Days". I'm sure you will enjoy a trip down memory lane as much as I did.

Of course I can't leave without posting some of my latest works of art!!!!!!!

Now see...I saved the best for last!!! Ha Ha, I told ya I was gonna scrap this fine piece of man flesh. Is he not a hottie or what?????? Oh my, I need a fan in hear cause it is smokin!!!!!!!!!!

Now ya have some good music and a beautiful man to look at...need I say what more could a girl ask for????

Exciting Ventures

I have some exciting news...I am starting my own business with PartyLite Candles and Gifts. This is an extremely awesome opportunity and I can't wait to see where this will take me. I have been a huge PartyLite fan for about 9 years now. They are by far the best candles on the market and so much more. I have my debut party next weekend and then I will be out on my own. It is super easy to get started so if you are in need of extra income, ask me how you too can start your own business.

My next venture involves my husband, Duane. He has been with Union Pacific Railroad for 5 years now as a conductor. We have now decided to take the next step!!!! Duane reports to engineer training the first week of September. It will take six months to finish then Duane will be driving the trains. This also means that while he is in training I will be working extra hard to bring in some extra income due to the pay cut we will endure, hence PartyLite!!!!!

And of course I could not stop by without dropping off a few of my latest scrappy layouts....

This is my dog, Buddy. He was my gift to myself six years ago on my birthday. "Ode to Buddy"
I love my baby!!!!

My beautiful Abigail just being her beautiful self.

Duane, my froggy prince. This one was really fun to make. I used a sketch from Creative Scrappers and the papers are from Webster's Pages. I have been so intimidated by this particular line of papers because my work does not tend to be very "fru fru"...know what I mean??? Anyway, after much thought and a little creativity...viola, a page I can cherish!!!!!

Oh and just for kicks and grins, I have a new picture of my obsessive crush...Hottie David! What a way to end any day!!!!!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhh.........I will be scrapping him next!

Wild Child

Teenagers.....WOW, I knew they could go through some wild phases but I never saw this one coming. The first biggie was the tongue ring. No, that is not a misprint....Landon wanted a tongue ring. After much thought and deliberation, I concluded that it was not THAT big of a deal and he is a good kid so what the hay! Well, 3 days later Landon came home with this....

As they say, "a picture is worth a thousand words". Now I am not going to go into the details of how this all took place or how upset I was when he came home and revealed not one but two tattoos. No, what I will say is that reguardless of what my opinion may be, I love him. He is expressing himself in way that I do not necessarily understand but we have a great relationship. I am not one of those parents who duck their heads and hide in the sand. I am actively involved in my children's lives and always asking questions. I am a mother first then their friend. I am just learning as I go and trying my best to get it right.

Crushing here lately I have been totally crushing on David Boreanaz. Early one morning, for some weird reason, I got up at like 6am and that was when I saw him. Beautiful does not do this man justice. Yes, I have seen him in Bones and admired him but it was when I saw Angel, that I fell head over heels in lust. So for months I have been setting my dvr to record all the Angel shows and now I have Netflix, so that I can rent Buffy the Vampire Slayer just to see where it all began. I guess I am a little obsessed and a little behind on the times...I mean where was I when these shows came out...ASLEEP?????? Oh, I know...I think I was planning a wedding. Ok, I have a good excuse. I mean who has time for tv while planning a wedding? Either way, David has romanced me and kept me on the edge of my toes while slaying the evil of the world and looking for his perfect love. Look no further Angel, I am She!

Managed to scrap a little here recently....
